Fabio received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in theoretical physics from the University of Padova, in 2000 and the Ph.D. degree in quantum physics from Hertfordshire University, UK, in 2004.During 2020-2022, he was an Assistant Professor at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He is currently Senior Researcher at the University of Trieste, Italy. His research interests lie on the edge between machine learning, in particular deep learning, computational neuroscience and physics.In 2016, together with Tomaso Poggio he published the book ““Visual Cortex and Deep Networks: Learning Invariant Representations.
