Stefano Martellos is associate professor of systematic botany at the Dept. of Life Sciences of the University of Trieste. He obtained a phd in Environmental botanyfrom the university of Trieste. His research interests ranges among the diverse aspects of Biodiversity Informatics, and their application in several fields, from the digitization of natural history colletions to supporting citizen science activities. Plus, he deals with systematics and taxonomy of lichenized fungy. He teaches biodiversity informatics, plant biology, general ecology, and species distribution modelling.
